THERAPIES AND SUPPORT
Education supported by the right people
Some learners benefit when educational and therapeutic goals are understood together. Support is considered only where provision is commissioned and appropriate.

Joined-up support around the learner
Communication
Speech and language therapy or social communication support where agreed.
Wellbeing
Counselling, therapeutic support, mentoring and emotional literacy where commissioned.
Progression
Key-working, preparation for adulthood and parent or professional consultation.
Professional boundaries
Therapies are not automatically included within standard tuition or college fees. Qualifications, consent, safeguarding, information sharing and funding must be agreed before work begins.
Consider the support around education
Discuss whether educational and therapeutic support should form part of the learner’s programme.
